Pumpkin red onion marmalade burger

Pumpkin red onion marmalade burger is the ultimate comfort food. Christmas is right around the corner and for an easy-breezy menu, these burgers are the way to go. For now, this burger is on my mind, with the perfect flavors of all combined in one bite. Who needs more fuss this time of the year, am I right. All I need right now is an easy all-round plant-based meal. They may be a pretty lazy way to celebrate Christmas, but they are legitly lekker, and that's what I need in my life right now, just saying!

Salted chocolate tahini brownies

Salted chocolate tahini brownies are indeed needed after this very very cold week and weekend. I am thankful for a house with proper heating because I tell you even if I ate this whole batch of brownies it wouldn't have heated me. They did help to curb the craving for chocolate and the added helping of salt did its job in the very best to make this recipe more spectacular. It makes me want to celebrate Christmas early this year!

Thai green curry soup

Thai green curry soup is such a winning recipe for these colder months ahead. It's packed with protein and filling vegetables to keep you full, especially when the layers (or shall I say donuts) are calling your name. It's amazing the tasty soup recipes you can create with just the basic ingredients in your cupboard. I make soup every week, and love different variations from very dense, creamy to chunky and even spicy and sweet. This recipe is a particularly favorite spicy one of mine!

Roasted Blueberry brioche donuts

Roasted Blueberry brioche donuts are simply what vegan donut heaven was made for..National donut day is on our doorstep once again, and this time around I came prepared. Donuts are somewhat of a dark horse to me, you can either go all-in, deep-fried sugar covered the works, or play it safe by opting for a baked "healthier" donut instead, but let's be honest here, fried donuts are a must, even if it's just once a year...

WHY plant based?

Why Plant-based/vegan? This is one of the most frequent asked questions I have received this past year. So what does it all mean? What do you eat, what protein do you eat, do you drink milk and eat eggs? The list goes on. To me this past year has been an easy transition, but to others, does the sacrifice suffice the reward?

Mesquite cashew caramel blondies

Mesquite cashew caramel blondies are close to best blondies I have ever had. I have recently started to use Mesquite powder and I have to say I absolutely love the taste this superfood adds to a smoothie or cakes. With these blondies, it adds that something special.

Creamy mushroom stuffed spinach ravioli

Creamy mushroom stuffed spinach ravioli is the way homemade pasta should be done. The effort is a tad bit much so be sure to be in the mood for food when you make these. These pretty green pasta pockets are filled with a cashew cream mushroom filling, topped with sauteed crunchy shallots, kale, and toasted brazil nuts. These pasta pockets can be made and frozen, so you can whip them up whenever the cravings start calling. No more boring mid-week meals for you!

Sticky sweet butternut rolls

Sticky sweet butternut rolls must be the perfect start to 2019. Let me be very honest here, we didn't even make the new year. We passed out around ten and slept through the whole thing, I guess life does change after kids, or are there some diehard parents out there? I celebrated the new year by making these delish sticky butternut rolls. They are completely gluten-free (if you like), vegan and a big favorite side dish of mine. That's my way of celebrating the new year, lots of comfort food!

Super spinach falafel bowls

Super spinach falafel bowls are coming to my rescue this week. It has been a week post vacation and while winter is in full swing I haven't gotten the hang of the cold just yet. Neither has my son, and he is not a happy camper when the flu bug has gotten a hold of him. This ever so nourishing bowl was absolutely delish and I have fallen in love with these super easy falafels.

Creamy candied apple melkkos

Creamy candied apple melkkos needs no introduction. This recipe like the multiple other South African recipes, nostalgic. It's like the rain pouring outside and the smell of the rain hitting the dry ground. The cinnamon taste with this creamy porridge/dessert just takes me back. I love the fact that you can have this breakfast/dessert either way.
