The ultimate vegan rusks are just my absolute favorite rusk recipe that I had to share. Rusks is a very well known breakfast must have in South Africa. Our parents and their parents grew up knowing this dried sweet bread as a meal that can't go without. Till today my husband and I enjoy rusks with our breakfast and shares a few bites here and there with our son. There is few that comes close to a good nostalgic rusk!

Sticky sweet butternut rolls must be the perfect start to 2019. Let me be very honest here, we didn't even make the new year. We passed out around ten and slept through the whole thing, I guess life does change after kids, or are there some diehard parents out there? I celebrated the new year by making these delish sticky butternut rolls. They are completely gluten-free (if you like), vegan and a big favorite side dish of mine. That's my way of celebrating the new year, lots of comfort food!

Sweet potato zucchini frittatas was a quick and easy lunch that I just whipped up in a jiffy. I actually saw an amazing sweet potato zucchini loaf from Donna Hay and I wanted to recreate it. Pinterest is such a great tool to find what you're looking for or what you're not looking for...But somehow find a use for it. All this baking is leaving my stocked fridge pretty stacked and not a lot of time to eat it all, or it's not necessarily the time, but the waistline that doesn't allow it.

Apricot coconut pancakes are calling my name right about now, it's summer written all over it. I just came back from my vacation in South Africa and after a whole month of winter I am embracing the summer and these pancakes just make it even more of a celebration.

Lentil hand pies are that kind of snack that you can have any time of the day, especially when it's combined with this amazing tangy tomato sauce. I made a huge batch of lentil bobotie and I seriously can't get enough. It's so tasty and keeps me full for quite some time.

Spicy Thai chicken zoodles stirfry is my love declaration to Thai cuisine. I have always loved stir fry and I guessed I had it all in the bag, I mean all you have to do is just fry some chicken and veg and load up some sweet and sour sauce from the supermarket. Man, did I not know what I was missing. My husband thought that is all I could make. (so he did marry me for love after all, because I would make it on a regular. Just because it's always a go to when you don't know what to make, and then it gets pretty stale after a while. So this a great way of mixing it up. This is your game changer when it comes to stirfry.

Brioche breakfast loaf is my new favorite way of eating bread in general. I am not much of a bread eater, but when it's super good, like this loaf. I can't say no! I love Brioche and it's a favorite of the French as well. There are so many recipes on how to use this dough. I made this loaf, and it took a bit of time, but it was no time till every crumb was devoured. My son loved it so much, and usually, he gets pretty over things when he eats it more than once! But no one in this household was sick of having a slice of heaven for pretty much every meal of the day until there was no more!

Roasted carrot butternut soup is one of my favorite soups ever. I know I've said it before because everything that I make is my favorite...So I am a bit misleading. I love butternut soup and have made a few kids in the past, curry butternut soup, butternut chickpea soup and butternut chili soup. I have to say that the combo of carrot and butternut absolutely taste amazing. The carrot adds that tinge of sweetness that is so unexpected. I promise you, this is so easy and tasty you'll want to make it over and over again!

Pumpkin red onion quiche is the savory treat that I am craving the most these days. I'm kind of over stews and heavily cooked comforting meals, therefore quiche is just the thing. It's light, filling and comforting at the same time. With summer, hopefully' around the corner. These quiches that are healthier than the regular quiches, so they will not deviate you to get summer body ready.

Milktart Crepes have become my ultimate favorite way to eat crepes. Even though Nutella coconut filled crepes right next to the Ifle tower is hard to beat. Crepes with a view can be anyone's favorite am I right? No matter what they taste like. Now you don"t have to go all the way to France to experience good enough crepes. I combined the much loved French dessert with a well-known favorite in South African. One thing that we have in common is that we love crepes too. I guess that I am finding more and more similarities to cure the "missing home" blues.
