Peanut Butter Date Coconut smoothie

Peanut Butter date coconut smoothie

I do love peanut butter… it’s super addictive and it’s a close favorite to my all time almond butter obsession! I know there are copious amounts of variations on how to make a good peanut butter smoothie, but this combo is certainly a go to when I need to stop the peanut butter cravings that are creeping up on me, especially since I am breastfeeding our hungry little bear. It’s easy to make in a flash since there is less time to prepare my beloved breakfasts.

Reality has struck me hard this past week since being discharged from the hospital after my son’s birth. I never realized how limited life can be after having a cesarean since the actual birth plan was to have a natural birth. I am not disappointed because I get to hold my little boy in my arms every day and he is just such a blessing. I just wish I could do more, I don’t like to sit still and having had a cesarean certainly limits my ability to go on as “normal” so to speak.

I do feel ever so slightly traumatized by the whole birthing experience, just because my preparations for the actual birth was not up to scratch. At the end of the day, I guess there is nothing that can fully prepare you for such an amazing experience of giving birth. It can be either an unforgettable experience, excruciatingly painful or just downright not worth thinking about since the bundle of joy has filled every corner of your heart. I just can’t imagine life without him, now that he is here!

Well, the flip side to this who predicament is that I get to spend more quality time with the two men in my life and it also gives me more time making nutritional meals (when baba is sleeping of course) to feed him and his hungry moma. Breastfeeding makes you so thirsty and did I mention hungry? Like a bear indeed! I had this peanut butter, date and coconut smoothie this morning and it was delicious! I just gulled up the last bit…he is awake now! Off to feeding him I go!

I’ll be posting about the actual birth on Friday, so have a look out to read more about the birth of our baby boy in France.
