Breakfast Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon rolls are one of my all time favorite snacks, the thing is though that eating a real deal cinnamon roll can lead to some serious complications…Sugar addiction complications!


All day Breakfast Cinnamon roll, yes, that’s right. I have an obsession te create something cinnamony, but healthy. Even though I love a good sugar infused cinnamon roll, I do prefer to go the healthy route.

1-2 people
  • 1/2 cup of almond flour
  • 1/2 cup of wholemeal flour (or soy flour)
  • 1 cup of coconut flour
  • 1/2 cup light cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp xylitol or sugar of choice
  • salt


  • 2 tbs coconut
  • 1 tsp xylitol
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Cream cheese frosting

  • 1/2 cup light cream cheese
  • 2 tsp xylitol


  1. Sift all the dry ingredients for the dough in a mixing bowl.
  2.  Whisk the egg and cream cheese together till fluffy and add that into the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix the dough and roll into a ball, wrap it in glad wrap and place in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  4. Ensemble the filling and the frosting and remove the dough from the fridge.
  5. Place the dough on a wooden board that has been covered with glad wrap or flour.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness, sprinkle over the filling and roll up.
  7. You can cut round cinnamon rolls or you can roll the whole dough up into the shape of a cinnamon roll.
  8. Place on a baking tray and bake for 25-30 min @180°C.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 min before you pour over the cream cheese frosting.
    Bien manger!!

Hope that all the Cinna-bun lovers out there is going to try this recipe, I absolutely loved it and am making it again…Tomorrow I think!
