Avocado sweet pea hummus is just such a beautiful side dish to those fresh spring days and evenings. I love hummus and have been making a batch every week, depending on the mood I am in, depends what flavors I like to add. Some of my favorite ones have been soy honey, tangy sweet turmeric, roasted carrot and sundried tomato hummus.

I am enchanted by spring, but it is such a shame that spring is literally the same as winter in Castres. RAINING. But the console price indeed is the parade of flowers outside, it’s not a console, but the actual prize if you don’t miss it.

Back to the hummus recipe. Some hummus recipes are loaded with extra fat and preservatives, like the store-bought kind. You don’t need a lot to let hummus taste great. The trick is, adding enough fluids so you kind of fluff up the chickpeas to a smooth consistency. That’s my philosophy anyway! What’s your trick to making great hummus? This batch of hummus is extra creamy thanks to the avo and has a sweetness thanks to the sweet peas that are in season now. It’s absolutely yum, especially when served with honey lemon roasted asparagus!

Avocado sweet pea hummus

Ingredients 

  • 500g canned chickpeas
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 small avocado
  • 1/2 cup sweet peas (slightly cooked and drained)
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Drain the chickpeas, but leave about 1/3 of the water intact, add this with the chickpeas to a food processor.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
  3. Extra add-ins- roasted nuts, pine nuts and coconut milk.

Hope you like this batch of hummus as much as I do! I have been eating it so much this week and it’s been amazing with basically anything that I have been eating.
